Accelerated Science And Technology Human Resource Development Program | Philippine Scholarship

Make S&T your future. Be a DOST scholar! The scholarship award shall be for full time graduate studies for the completion of a MS/ PhD degree in any of the DOST identified priority fields. The awardee shall execute a Scholarship Agreement with DOST.

 

The scholar must not be employed or practicing his/ her profession while on scholarship. He/ she must secure approval for official leave of absence, if employed.

 

Evaluation of the academic performance of the scholar is based on the established policies. This will determine the scholarship status every semester or term.

 

A service obligation to be rendered in the Philippines shall be required of the scholarship after he/ she finishes the MS/ PhD degree. For example, one year service for every year of scholarship.

 

Refund of scholarship grant with interest shall be required of the scholars for non-completion of his/ her graduate program or failure to comply with the service obligation.

 

 

Eligibility

Must be a Filipino citizen

 

Not be more than 45 years old at the time of application

 

Be in a good health condition

 

Pass the admission requirements for graduate studies at any of the NSC member universities

 

Pass the interview and other screening procedures

 

 

Benefits

Tuition and other school fees

 

Stipend MS P20,000 per month, PhD P28,000 per month

 

Book allowance P10,000 per year

 

Transportation allowance – actual

 

Group insurance, P500 per year

 

Thesis/ Dissertation P30,000 to P100,000

 

Research grant P200,000 to P475,000

 

In addition

 

You have one actual economy class round trip fare per academic year for those who will study outside their home province.

 

The stipends in the remaining months of the scholarship period shall be given to a scholar who completes his/ her degree earlier than the prescribed period of study.

Requirements

Accomplished ASTHRDP-NSC Information Sheet or Application Form which can be downloaded at the SEI.DOCS.GOV.PH website or through the webistes of the NSC member universities.

 

Birth certificate (photocopy)

 

Certified true copy of the official transcript of records

 

Endorsement from two former professors in college or from two former professors in the Master’s program for applicants pursuing PhD program.

 

If employed, recommendation and permission to take a leave of absence while on scholarship by head of agency.

 

Medical certificate as to health status from a licensed physician with his/ her PRC license number indicated.

 

Valid NBI clearance.

 

Letter of admission which should include the evaluation sheet and program of study.

ASTHRDP is a unified and innovative human resource program aimed at accelerating the production of high level human resources by awarding MS and PhD scholarship grants to eligible individuals who will fill in the gaps in identified areas of science and technology. Together with DOST councils and other higher education institutions, the ASTHRD is implemented by awarding students free tuition and other school fees, stipends, book allowances, group accident insurance, thesis or dissertation funding, and transportation allowance for those who will study outside their home province.

 

 

 

Submit your application to

Complicated application and other documentary requirements may be submitted personally or by mail addressed to the office of the ASTHRDP Project Leader of the desired NSC member university on or before the following dates

 

ADMU, CLSU, MSU-IIT, UPD, UPLB, UPM, UPV, UST, and VSU

May 31 first term

September 15 second term

 

For DLSU, March 31 third term
