The Magdalo Foundation Scholarship Program has been designed to provide grants and financial assistance to deserving students at the University of the Philippines who are taking up courses geared towards public service professions. At present, the Magdalo Scholarship Program continues with the exclusion of the UP Los Banos Campus.
The Diwa ng Magdalo Foundation Inc (DMFI) is a non-stock and non-profit foundation that provides essential programs geared towards community development. One program is the Magdalo Scholarship since 2011.
At this point, DMFI continuously strive to expand its scope in providing sustainable livelihood programs and other appropriate programs for the benefit of the less fortunate members of the society including the families of retired and active members of the uniformed services and law enforcement agencies of the country (AFP, PNP, BJMP, BFP, PCG, and PDEA) as well as the dependents of other government employees who are at the forefront of our government services that unabatingly provide for the welfare of all Filipinos even though they themselves struggle to provide for their own families.
As a tool in influencing societal change, the DMFI introduced their Scholarship Program for deserving college students from the University of the Philippines (UP) who are taking up courses that are geared towards public service professions. The first program was launched during the 2011-2012 Academic Year with UP students from Diliman and Manila campuses as beneficiaries.
The foundation aims to assist target communities in attaining financial independence through the mobilization of local capacities as well as to develop future leaders who are committed to nation building through academic scholarships.
