Obtaining a college degree is a dream that is realized only by a few. Data from the Department of Education shows that for every 100 students who enrolled in Grade 1, there were only about 14 of them who eventually graduate with a college degree, which is the reason behind the conception of the Project ACE. In support of the financially disadvantaged high school graduates seeking a bachelor’s degree, the Jollibee Group Foundation (JGF), offers scholarships and management training in any of its JFC stores through its Project ACE program. The Jollibee Foundation has always believed in the power of the youth to transform, make positive changes, and contribute to a better society.
ACE means Improving Access, Curriculum, and Employability in Hotel and Restaurant Management Education. The Project ACE is a combined scholarship support and in-store training funded and provided by the Jollibee stores for the financially disadvantaged high school graduates.
The JGF has also partnered with the Human Resource Departments of Jollibee, Chowking, and Greenwich to provide workshops and on-the-job-training to the ACE scholars pursuing the food service and restaurant management track to ensure the graduates are ready to take on roles in the workplace after graduation.
In partnership with the Don Bosco Technical College (DBTC) Mandaluyong and Don Bosco Canlubang, a 15 month technical skills training in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanics and Mechatronics are offered to high school graduates who seek higher education, but are financially constrained from doing so.
Value formation complements the technical training to develop the scholars’ good moral character. Do the best that you can and don’t worry about the outcome, because the outcome will take care of itself.
