The Cebu Institute of Technology – University is better known by the locals as the Cebu Institute of Technology or CIT. The CIT Office of Admissions and Scholarships (OAS) is the department responsible for the admission of students as well as the applications for scholarships and discounts. The OAS handles the admission of all incoming freshmen students and also, for the processing of scholarship and discount applications. The CIT offers a unique system of awarding and recognizing both curricular and co-curricular achievements of the students.
To qualify for the College Honor Roll a student must have a grade average of at least 4.250. He/she must have not incurred an NC, DR or a failing mark in the previous semester. The CIT Bridge Program is a value-added service to incoming freshmen. It offers free review classes in Mathematics, English and Chemistry. The program aims to bridge the gap between high school and college instructions. It is offered before classes begin in the first semester.
The CHED sponsored scholarships such as the PESFA, SSP etc. are processed at the Registrar’s Office while educational plans are directly transacted at the accounting office. CHED has emphasized the strengthening of the guidance and counseling services on academic institutions through a well planned assessment program. The guidance center provides relevant and qualitative programs aimed to facilitate students to self-actualize and become upright leaders in their respective communities.
The university also offers the ETEEAP, which is a non-formal learning gained through organized workplace-based training, non-credit courses and workshops. The completion of this course will lead to receiving a formal credit. The ETEEAP is an alternative education promulgated by Executive Order 330. The school is deputized by CHED as one of the higher education institutions in the Philippines to offer specific programs under ETEEAP.
CIT offer ACCESS, which is an Academic Center for Continuing Education and Student Success. The program promotes creativity, innovativeness and logical thinking. The program gives training in Robotics, specifically MBOT Programming and Arduino Programming. Enroll for MBOT if you want to learn how to code and know the basics of robotics. Choose Arduino if you want to learn how to code and if, you are interested in electronics.
