The Cebu City College Scholarship Program has an average of 10,000 to 15,000 scholars, and an average of 3,000 graduates every school year since 2014. In order to address the needs of the poor but deserving residents of Cebu City who want to pursue college or vocational courses and cannot afford to pay the tuition and miscellaneous fees, the city government established a Scholarship Program that started in the year 2010 through the Executive Order 10-124 issued by Mayor Michael Lopez Rama and strengthened by the City Ordinance No. 2333 known as the Cebu City College Scholarship Program.
The Cebu City Mayor Michael Lopez Rama pushed the City Ordinance 2333, Cebu City Scholarship Program, to help the fresh graduates who are need of help to continue their education. In the event the scholars will have a failing grade at the end of the semester, the student can still continue with the scholarship program provided the parents will pay for the expenses incurred in retaking the subjects in the next semester.
The Cebu City College Scholarship program still exist and they just start accepting applications last April 23 2018. They stopped for 2 years because of the implementation of the senior high school and they didn’t have graduates. For 2018, the City has budgeted P202 million for the scholarship program.
The council has just amended some of the rules. Starting 2018, those who graduated from the previous years may apply for the grant, even if you graduated several years ago, given they pass the exam.
The scholars are allowed to enroll in any university or college in the city that is accredited under the program. A City Government scholar is entitled to P10,000 financial assistance every semester, and P1,000 school supply allowance. Scholars from the mountain barangays are entitled to another P1,000 as transportation allowance.
Eligibility
Fresh graduate from a public high school or Alternative Learning School (ALS) whose parents are residents and voters of Cebu City.
In some cases, fresh graduates of private schools due to a government scholarship whose parents are resident voters of Cebu City
Requirements
Take the Career Pathing Examination administered by a licensed Psychometric chosen by the scholarship committee to help assess the possible course fitted to the mental capacity of the students
Maintain the required passing grades for all subjects
Parents are resident voters of Cebu City or parents must be residents and registered voters of the city since 2007 and had voted in the 2010 elections
Secure a certification the parents had voted in the 2010 elections, if deceased, the guardian must submit the required certification, if housemaid, the employer can submit the certification
Proof of residency
Government identification cards
Barangay certification

Tuition fees P10,000 per semester
Monthly allowance of P1,000 for those living in the city
Monthly allowance of P5,000 for those living in the mountain barangays
In the event the scholar will have a failing grade at the end of the semester, he/ she can still continue with the scholarship program, but the parents need to shoulder the expenses incurred for the retake of the failed subjects.

Hello, exams will run from April 23 to May 7 this year. For this year, the City has budgeted P202 million for the scholarship program. To qualify, one must be a graduate of any public secondary school in Cebu City whose parents are also residents of the city. Graduates of private secondary schools may avail themselves of the scholarship only if they attended private schools on a scholarship grant.
