Programs and services embody the role of TESDA as the authority in technical vocational education and training (TVET). These are aimed at providing clear directions and priorities for TVET in the country. These include the formulation of plans and policies for the TVET sector and the generation through researches and studies and the dissemination of relevant data and information for informed decision of stakeholders of the sector.
TESDA shall SEEK (jobs) through domestic and international market intelligence report to pinpoint specific job requirements. TESDA shall find the right people who can be trained to fit the jobs in partnership with NGOs, social welfare agencies / institutions, school and community organizations. TESDA shall train the right people using standards of quality for TVET developed in consultation with various industry sectors.
This pro-active matching process contributes to the best job-skills fit. TESDA also focuses on increasing productivity of implemented training programs by assisting individuals or groups who prefer to go into micro business, small and medium enterprises of entrepreneurship training.
The theme of the TESDA Online Program is to give you more freedom and allow you to study at your own pace in your own time. You can start to level up your skills in tourism, health care, housekeeping, cookery and massage therapy.
The TESDA Online Program (TOP) is an open educational resource that aims to make technical education more accessible to Filipino citizens through the use of information and communication technologies. The TOP provides an effective and efficient way to deliver technical education and skills development services to a broader audience/ wide range of users/ all learners at a lesser cost.
Training for Work Scholarship Programs (TWSP)
The TWSP program provides immediate interventions to meet the need for highly critical skills. The program has two fold objectives, which is to purposively drive TVET provision to available jobs through incentives and appropriate training programs that are directly connected to existing jobs for immediate employment, both locally and overseas.
Eligibility
Must be at least 18 years old at the time the scholar finishes the training
Educational attainment shall be based on industry requirements or as prescribed in the relevant training regulations
Can either be out-of-school-youths, TVET trainers or industry workers obtaining skills upgrading training programs
Priority shall be given to those without prior formal or vocational trainings as well as those coming from regions or provinces where the absolute number of poor residents and the incidence of poverty are high, as identified in the latest official poverty statistics of the PSA-NSCB
Other clientele groups such as persons with disability (PWDs), indigenous people, solo parents and their children, senior citizens shall be afforded access to scholarship opportunities in the qualifications/ courses were they can qualify, OFW returnees, members of the families of AFP and PNP personnel killed in military and police operations and other marginalized groups may also avail of the scholarship program subject to pre-qualification
Must be currently a beneficiary of other government educational scholarship and subsidy program
Private Education Student Financial Assistance (PESFA)
This program was established through Section 8 of Republic Act No. 8545, otherwise known as the Expanded Government Assistance to Students and Teachers in Private Education (GASTPE) Act. The PESFA offers educational grants to qualified and deserving college freshment both in degree and non-degree courses.
Eligibility
Must have completed at least 10 years of basic education
At least 15 years old
Have taken the National Career Assessment Examination (NCAE) or have undergone the Youth Profiling for Starring Careers (YP4SC)
Have an annual family income of not more than P300,000
Must not be a recipient of any post Grade 10 scholarship program
Must not have attended any post secondary/ college education program
Special Training For Employment Program (STEP)
The objective of this program is to provide skills training opportunities for the beneficiaries in the barangay communities to make them employable and productive.
Eligibility
At least 15 years old at the start of the training program
Filipino citizen
Preference shall be given to beneficiaries belonging to indigent families under the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction and Informal Sector Families and second to those under the next lower poverty level as determined by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)
