The PhilFrance scholarships are directed to Filipino students and professionals wishing to go to France and pursue Master’s or Doctoral programs in all fields of study. The PhilFrance Scholarships are awarded to highly-qualified candidates who have demonstrated strong academic and leadership qualities in their scholarly and professional activities.
The scholarship benefits include a partial tuition subsidy, a monthly allowance, and a health care package for the expected length of their academic programs. After the deadline for the submission of application, it will take around a month for the results to be released.
Each candidate will be notified through email regardless of the outcome of their application. The scholarship seems to be very competitive for many. The success rate will always be 0%. You have nothing to lose, but much to gain. They want strong candidates.
Holders of dual citizenship can apply provided that one is Philippine and the other is not French. There is no age limit and there is not limit in the number of applications accepted.
Remember that this academic award is directed to the next generation Filipino leaders who have shown strong academic, leadership and professional abilities, and who wish to study in France for a graduate degree.
Eligibility
A Filipino citizen residing in the Philippines at the time of application
Graduates or graduating students of a Philippine higher education institution
For applicants to Master’s degree programs: final-year students or graduates of a Bachelor-level degree
For applicants to PhD programs: final-year students or graduates of a Master-level degree
Note: Candidates who are employed (teaching and non-teaching) in a Philippine HEI must apply for the CHED - PhilFrance Scholarship, and not the PhilFrance Scholarship program.
Benefits
Tuition fee subsidy not exceeding €10,000 for the entire duration of the program
A €615 monthly stipend and a yearly €700 installation allowance
A health care package composed on mandatory national health care package and a supplementary policy
Eligible programs
A degree awarding graduate program (Master’s or PhD) from a French higher education institution (public or private), for academic disciplines only.
Vocational and technical disciplines, such as culinary arts and fashion design are ineligible.
Foreign higher education institutions based in France are not eligible for financial support.
Application material
A one page CV detailing your academic, professional, and leadership experience
An essay no longer than 500 words, explaining your reasons for wanting to study in France and how your experience and degree will benefit the Philippines and Filipino society, essays exceeding the word limit will be discarded along with the application
Certified true copies of academic transcripts at university level
Letters of acceptance, or proof of a completed application, to degree awarding graduate programs, issued by the French higher education institution (HEI) where you applied to
All documents must be in PDF format except for the essay, which must be submitted as a word document. Additional documents, such as letters of recommendation, submitted without the embassy requesting them, will not be accepted. Any attempt to unduly influence the decision making process will result in the dismissal of the candidate’s application.
