CIMB ASEAN Scholarship is inviting applicants from Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam and Cambodia pursuing their first undergraduate degree. Only citizens of any of these five ASEAN countries Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand and Cambodia can apply. You have to be aged 24 or below and have an unconditional offer for undergraduate studies by the time the scholarship is awarded. Those in their first or second year of university studies may also apply.

It is not necessary that you will be accepted by the university when you apply, but you must have an unconditional offer by the time the scholarship is awarded. All applications must be done online via the dedicated online application site and submitted before the closing date.

Only applications submitted during the time stipulated for submissions and closing date will be accepted. Any applications made after the deadline will not be considered.

If you do not complete the program or fail to obtain the undergraduate degree, you will need to repay all expenditure borne by the CIMB Group. You will be bonded with the CIMB Group for one year for every year of study locally and two years for every year of study outside the candidate’s home country.

The CIMB ASEAN Scholarship is a fully funded undergraduate scholarship that offers much more than financial support. It reaffirms the group’s commitment to invest in the next generation towards supporting the growth of the region.

Eligibility

The CIMB ASEAN Scholarships are awarded to eligible individuals who are citizens of either one of these countries: Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and Philippines.

In recognition of how the banking industry has evolved, CIMB has accepted academic disciplines like Chemical and Civil Engineering, apart from those regularly associated with banking like Accounting, Economics, Finance and Law.

Open to individuals interested in undergraduate studies in any academic discipline who have received or expected to receive an offer to pursue or are currently pursuing undergraduate studies in any academic discipline in any reputable university in the world.

Aged 24 and below.

Have obtained academic excellence in pre-university exams, which may be country specific, local or international, or at the undergraduate level, if you are already in your first or second year of university. With minimum 2 years remaining of undergraduate study.

Are not holders of any other scholarship or grant with contractual obligation on the part of the applicant.

Screened and shortlisted applicants will be interviewed by the panel and shall go through online assessment. Shortlisted applicants shall undergo a second round of interview, final interview with the top management of the CIMB Group.
