The Ajinomoto Post Graduate Scholarship Grant provides financial assistance to deserving Filipino students who are interested in pursuing continuing education. The grant gives a full scholarship in one of the graduate schools in the field of science and technology at the University of Tokyo, Japan. Only 1 student from each of the 6 countries of Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam, and Russia.
If the recipient enrolls as a research student, scholarship shall be provided for a maximum of 3 years (1 year as a research student and maximum of 2 years as a master’s course student). The scholarship will be suspended if the recipient fails to pass the entrance exam for a master’s course within a year after arriving in Japan.
If the recipient enrolls as a master’s course student, the scholarship shall be provided for a maximum of 2 years. The applicant can enroll either as a research student first or directly as a master’s course student in one of the courses, except medicine and veterinary medicine, of the graduate schools of the University of Tokyo.
Courses: Science, Pharmaceutical Science, Engineering, Information Science and Technology, Agricultural and Life Science, Interdisciplinary Information Studies, Frontier Science, Mathematical Science, and ITASIA.
The scholarship will be suspended or terminated when you receive any other scholarship, fails to arrive in Japan by the appointed date, fails to pass the entrance examination to a master’s course within one year after arriving to Japan, and provides false information on the application forms.
Eligibility
Must be a Filipino citizen.
Must be under the age of 35.
Must have graduated or is expected to graduate with an excellent academic record (with 15 years of education completed or expected to be completed) and must receive the recommendation of his university president or academic advisor or be otherwise qualified to enroll in the University.
Must show financial need to pursue higher education.
Must have excellent academic record.
Must be able to obtain approval of acceptance from the University of Tokyo and be a registered student for April or October school year.
Must have adequate Japanese language proficiency that is required in order to research and study as a master’s course student of the University of Tokyo.
Must file an application and attend selection procedures in the Philippines.
Must be in good physical and mental health.
Must not be receiving other scholarships.
Must have a strong sense of nationalism, leadership, and motivation.

¥150,000 (approximately PHP 60,000) monthly allowance for a maximum of 1 year as a research student at a graduate school
¥180,000 (approximately PHP 70,000) monthly allowance for a maximum of 2 years as a master’s course student at a graduate school

The Ajinomoto Postgraduate Scholarship Grant for ASEAN International Students aims to cultivate individuals who will make contributions to the development of Asia and their respective countries.
Through this scholarship grant, they hope the chosen student will not only be able to pursue his or her own dreams, but will also be able to contribute to the economic, cultural and educational development of the Philippine society upon completion of the Master’s degree in Japan.
