The Tapulanga Educational Scholarship program provides tuition, books allowance, and lunch to students attending at the St. Francis of Assisi School. The school, St. Francis Assisi offers kindergarten to high school education to almost 500 students. The mission of the school is to provide quality Christian education to the children of the farm workers.
The Tapulanga Foundation understands that back-to-school time is usually the most stressful time for low income families who cannot afford to send their kids to school. That is why they offered scholarships for those students who are studying in St. Francis Assisi school.
The Tapulanga Foundation Inc. is a non-profit charitable organization that helps provide educational, healthcare and micro-credit assistance to communities in the Hda. Tinihiban and neighboring areas.
Established in 2001 and based in Silay City, the main project of the foundation is providing educational scholarships of St. Francis of Assisi School located just outside Silay City, Negros Occidental.
The Tapulanga foundation holds various activities and campaigns every year. The scholarship program provides tuition scholarships including learning activity sheets and school supplies with backpacks.

It is always with excitement that the annual benefit dinners of the Tapulanga Foundation are met. Frequent attendees to their silent auction know that bidders often get good deals from the auction items. The benefit dinners they held in the past continues to support the education of their scholars and in support of the St Francis of Assisi School in Silay City.
The benefit dinner proceeds, scholarships, and donations go a long way in providing good quality and wholesome education for many children. The following is an update of the program as of 2016
- 438 scholars, teachers, and staff received Christmas gift packages in 2015;
- 176 students, teachers and staff received an eco-bag with Noche Buena grocery;
- 18 students got senior high school scholarships and seven scholars continue to go to college (UP-Visayas, USLS, Colegio de San Agustin, and CHMSC-Talisay);
- 192 children were able to join the Silay summer workshop;
- 240 families were given Noche Buena gift packages;
- 100 new scholars earned full scholarships;
- Out of the 712 enrollees in SFAS, 445 received full scholarship from Tapulanga Foundation!
- 343 scholars, all teachers and staff receive free lunch meal every day (yes, you can sponsor a student’s school lunch).
For over 10 years of granting educational assistance, the Tapulanga Foundation has inspired students in gaining quality education. One of their goals is to provide summer workshops and give continuous learning to the children during their summer break.
Aside from receiving financial benefits for school related expenses, the scholars have been treated to free summer workshops, medical benefits and enriching field trips.
